A beautiful vintage Edwardian style Lace and Embroidered Dress/Gown. Round neck, three quarter length sleeves. This has hooks and eyes that fasten up the back. Ivory in color, with elaborate lace throughout. Lots of soft pleats. The fabric seems to be a very lightweight cotton or muslin. Beautiful floral embroidery. The hem is triple pleated. Dress comes with a separate custom fitted slip underneath.Approximate Measurements: The model wearing this dress is a size "0". She is unable to fully fasten up the back. Waist: 22 inches Bust: 34 inches Length: 46 inches from collar to skirt hem Approximate US size 0, or slightly smaller.
Condition: There are some brown spots from age/storage, mostly in the back. There are some breaks in the lace, but nothing that I think is serious. These should easily be repairable. There are some holes and areas where the delicate fabric has worn thin, the worst of which is shown. The dress has hook & eye closures that fasten up the back, and some are loose or incomplete.
If you collect antique/vintage textiles, this would make a good addition to your collection.
It requires a professional cleaning, and minimal restoration. In my opinion, it is a bit too fragile to wear, but
it would look stunning on your dress form in your home or shop. It has a wonderful look!
