Here is a nice set of 5 antique Limoges Elite decorated plates. These measure 8 3/8" in diameter and are ornately decorated. The background of each plate has an all over pink vine and floral transfer pattern, and the plates have gold splashed and embossed, scalloped edges. Very elaborate. Each plate is further hand decorated with large flowers, and leaves with very heavy gilt overpainting. The color combination is beautiful. The plates do show wear to the painted decoration, mostly on the large leaves. There are a few very minor rim nicks, here and there, none of which is obvious because of the elaborate rim designs. The mark is number 9a which dates the collection to circa 1900-1914. These look especially nice when layered with other china and/or a charger. They would also look nice as cabinet plates. Keep one and sell the rest! (PC298)
