This is a rare old Miniature Kutani Chocolate/Coffee Pot. Fruit finial on lid. Typical iron red ground with figural decoration. Akae style. (Red painted decoration, with gold detailing). Nice band of decoration on base. No chips, cracks or damage. Painted decoration is in very good condition, with minimal paint loss. This measures 6 3/4" in height with a base diameter of 2 1/4". It is signed under the spout, and there is also a signature mark on the inside rim of the pot itself. Probably late 19th C. A wonderful piece! (PC112)
