Nice vintageJapanese red lacquer document box with bird/branch/flower decoration in gold/orange/gray. Box is in very nice condition. No cracks, or damage. Opens to reveal a black lacquer interior. Box is hinged and has a decorative lock in the front/no key. Base of box is marked "Made in Occupied Japan".Slight wear/fading to lacquer finish and some stray paint specks. I have left this box in as found condition and have not tried to clean it. This box measures 12 3/4" long x 5" wide x 3 1/2" tall. A wonderful vintage piece.
