Pink Coralene Art Glass Vase (AG134)

A beautiful Pink Coralene Art Glass Vase. Mid-Late 19th C Victorian Era. This vase is from the "White House Glassworks" in Wordsley, England. This pretty little vase measures 4 1/4" in height, with a base diameter of 1 1/2". The gold coralene decoration wraps around the entire vase. There is mininal loss to the coralene and gold paint on the rim. Overall Excellent Condition. Polished pontil on base is hallmarked with a red stamped spiderweb and the initial E. Information on the White House Glassworks is a little confusing, however, from what I can gather, Webb & Sons of Wordsley, Stourbridge, England (1840 - c 1995) sold the White House Glass Works to W H, B & J Richardson in 1842. Later, the White House Glassworks was run by Thomas & Herbert Webb/George Corbett, and seems to have operated from 1897-1913. My sources: www.jdl.co.nz/webbandcorbett.html and www.great-glass.co.uk This appears to be an important/historical piece of art glass that deserves its spot in any fine art glass collection.
