Venetian Art Glass Demitasse Cup/Saucer (AG100)
This is a gorgeous Venetian Glass Demitasse Set, probably by Salviati. It is like examples found in the book recommended below. I think this style is known as complex zanfirico. Other terms I've seen referring to this type of glass are filigrano, latticino and retortoli. The saucer measures 4 3/4" in diameter and has slightly scalloped edges. The bottom of the saucer has an applied glass foot rim. The threads alternate with copper metallic, blue and white netting. This demitasse set seems very complex. The demitasse cup has a pinched rim and measures 2 3/4" in height to the flared tip in the handle. The sides are pinched. The handle has glass rigaree work and is ever so dainty. It is in perfect condition.
