A rare pair of Fred Thompson (1844-1909) original hand colored Colonial Interior Scene weighted desktop paperweights. Both have an impressed copyright mark in the bottom right hand corners. Fred Thompson followed the lead of his contemporary, Wallace Nutting. These are from his "oddities" series. A very collectible pair! These measure approx. 2 5/8" x 3 5/8" x 1/2" and weigh 5 ounces each. The one pictures with the fireplace scene is backed with the original Fred Thompson Pictures - Oddities Label, Thompson Art Co Portland, Maine. Both are in excellent condition, framed behind glass.
