This is a great decorative accent piece. I like to nestle these old Italian alabaster dove baths with my fine antiques. They add a lot of warmth and old world feeling to your decor. This bird bath is made of a creamy white alabaster with grey veining. It's a nice size, measuring 4 1/2" in height (to the rim) and approx. 7 1/2" across the top. There are three birds, the bird on the left in the first picture has been reglued and has a small nick on his wings. Because these birds typically rest on the bath edges, they are susceptible to falling off. I would glue them in place! (One bird is missing, but can be replaced if you keep your eye out) He has flown south for the winter! The birds themselves are approx. 2 1/2" front to back, and stand 1 1/2" above the bath when pegged in place. This bird bath has a pedestal stem, a square base and elaborately carved edge details. The bath threads into the pedestal base and has been securely mounted in place. The birds are pegged and rest on the edges. There are no chips or bruises. This responds nicely to marble polish and has a nice sheen.
