A 20th Century (Mid Showa Period) signed Ando Akasuke Cloisonne Vase. The design is of Shikunshi, the four noble gentlemen, represented by Orchid, Plum Tree, Chrysanthemum, and Bamboo. Pigeon blood or ox blood red ground. It measures 10" in height with a base diameter of 3 1/4". Both the top and bottom rims are plated silver or chrome.
